Indian Bay Leaf, dried
........................................................................... Has a strong somewhat minty taste. It's from a plant closely related to cinnamon. (Thai bay leaf is called Cassia, probably from the cassia tree) It is not the same as European bay leaves though sometimes used as a substitute. |

Ikan Bilis (Anchovies dried) see also silver fish
........................................................................... A common tiny dried fish used for various dishes and for making stock. To use, remove heads and guts as they tend to be bitter. Sometimes made into a powder. Pre-peeled is preferable whenever available. |
