Despite what seems uncoutable varieties of noodles available, there can generally be classified into three catagories based on the basic flour used, namely, rice noodles, wheat noodles and bean noodles. Though there are noodles made of other types of flour such as sweet potatoes, they are rather uncommon.

A spice from the Indonesian spice Islands, it's use in cooking is strangely not very widespread. It's used in spice mix and sometimes grated over certain dishes. Preserved fresh fruits are eaten as a candy.
