Cape Malay Style - South Africa

The cape malay style of cooking is very similar to the malay style, except that its usually not very hot, although its still spicy. The cape malay, you see are decendants from people who originally came from what are now known as Malaysia and Indonesia.

It is interesting that even some of the names of a few dishes has been retained although the ingredients have changed. Malaysians for example have a dish called 'boeboer' or something like that, the main ingredient of which is coconut milk. In cape town we have a dish with the same name but the main ingredient for this is milk.

I had the opportunity to go to Malaysia some time last year and I really enjoyed the food.
